Prosecutor: Man 'Molested The Bodies Looking For Jewelry'
WATERBURY, Conn. -- A Brooklyn man who broke open caskets to rob the dead of jewelry and gold teeth at a Waterbury cemetery has pleaded guilty to numerous charges. Joseph J. Vecchiarelli, 26, pleaded guilty Tuesday to interference with a cemetery or burial ground, possession and sale of narcotics and other charges.

ROME, Italy (Reuters) -- Archaeologists have discovered a more than 2,000-year-old Etruscan tomb perfectly preserved in the hills of Tuscany with a treasure trove of artifacts inside, including urns that hold the remains of about 30 people. The tomb, in the Tuscan town of Civitella Paganico, probably dates from between the 1st and 3rd centuries B.C., when Etruscan power was in decline, Andrea Marcocci, who led digging at the site, told Reuters.

Connecticut--The Newtown Village Cemetery is a trove of primitive art, to look at the tombstones that mark the graves of those who perished here in the mid- to late 1700s. Grimacing skulls with wings that flair behind the head seem unsettling decorations for a gravestone, presiding over the grave site with hollow eyes that seem more like something from a Harry Potter novel than an ancient burial ground.

HONG KONG, China (Reuters) -- Two mainland Chinese brothers told a Hong Kong court they tried to plunder the grave of the late wife of Asia's richest man, Li Ka-shing, in a failed bid to blackmail him for her bones, a newspaper reported on Wednesday. The brothers, surnamed Lau, told Hong Kong's High Court that they had hatched the plan with six others, the Ming Pao newspaper reported.
