I also have dozens of submissions from members, which I greatly appreciate! Remember that news articles post in order of publication date, not posting date. Possible remains from crematory gone for good at landfill
Â
By Chris Joyner
Jackson, MS - The chairman of the state funeral board said he plans to take some action at Thursday's meeting regarding allegations Jackson crematory operator Mark Seepe improperly disposed of human remains. But Charles Riles wouldn't be specific Tuesday about his plans. Seepe could not be reached for comment. He previously told The Clarion-Ledger he has properly cremated bodies brought to him but acknowledged on Friday he knew bones were in a trash bin in his parking lot along with construction materials.

Job description: Female applicants to bathe and clothe the dead. Also apply makeup and occasionally work on the corpses at night. And carry their coffins. It is a job no Singapore woman took up, one funeral director said. So he had to look overseas for those willing to work as female pallbearers, who would not just help to carry coffins, but also perform the above duties on dead women to help the embalmers.

Tuesday, 01 April 2008 |
The University of Minnesota Medical School Anatomy Bequest Program, established in 1901, is a whole body donation program. The primary mission of the Anatomy Bequest program is to ensure the availability of human bodies to aid in anatomy, education, research, clinical practice and biomedical device design. The Anatomy Bequest Program supports statewide education to advance the understanding of human anatomy. Families of donors can hold pre-burial rites—viewings and funeral services—at funeral homes before the University of Minnesota takes possession of the bodies. (The donation program will advise funeral home employees of any special embalming and handling procedures.)

Romania - This is one of the most impressive and important monuments in Romania's history, as it is dedicated to the valiant resistance of the Romanian army against the German attacks, in the summer of 1917, when all seemed lost and defeat unavoidable. The victory recorded by the Romanian army at Marasti was a costly one, with a great number of dead and wounded, but proved to be a crucial turning point in the war. The monument we can still see today is an impressive and highly interesting body of work, an architectural achievement that is still a wonder.

Georgia - The effort to reform the death services industry in Georgia is a year behind schedule, but House leaders should continue the initiative. Anything less is unacceptable.

The send-off drew roughly a thousand people, some in expensive suits others in everyday work garb, to Holy Name of Jesus Church, where they lined up to pay final respects to Copeland, who was 64 when he died March 23.
