Repeat sadistic sex and cannibalism case feared PDF Print E-mail

German police are investigating a killing in Berlin that appears to be a repeat case of cannibalism linked to sex.

A 33-year-old piano teacher was found dead in an apartment in the city's troubled Neukoelln district, police confirmed yesterday.

The man was stabbed to death with a screwdriver and cut up with a saw. His internal organs were put in his fridge. A 41-year-old man who gave himself up to police and confessed to the killing, was quoted by Bild newspaper as telling officers: "I wanted to eat parts of the corpse."

The man allegedly said he met his victim via an internet site for gay men.

Media reports said he killed the teacher after engaging in "sado-maso" sex.

Germany was shocked by a similar case in the state of Hesse in 2001, when a man killed and ate another man in an apparent consensual act.

The killer, Armin Miewes, was recently found guilty and sentenced to eight and a half years in prison.

The relatively short jail sentence drew wide criticism in Germany.
