A Taphophilia Thank You...

Taphophilia (dot) Com would not be possible without the knowledge, experience and talent of DarkestWeb. From
its conception and early development, DarkestWeb
was faced with many challenges; from inspiring and motivating, to providing guidance and direction. The continued dedication and support has produced results greater than ever expected, and for this, I owe a huge debt of gratitude.

BURLINGAME -- The Burlingame Historical Society invited the community Sunday afternoon to "Six Feet Under," an informative history of the Crosby-N. Gray & Co. Funeral Home, a staple of Burlingame business since 1947.

The 100 or so guests got a behind-the-scenes tour of the mortuary, including embalming facilities and casket rooms.

Housed in a conspicuous white-columned building off El Camino Real, Crosby-N. Gray has handled funeral arrangements for some of the biggest names in the Bay Area, most recently baseball legend Bobby Bonds.

Among others were Charles Howard, owner of famed race horse Seabiscuit, and members of the San Mateo County's prominent Jackling family.

"Coming to a funeral home isn't usually thought of as a pleasant experience," said Burlingame City Councilwoman Cathy Baylock, treasurer of the historical society. "We wanted to give people a different reason to be here.
