Taphophilia (dot) Com would not be possible without the knowledge, experience and talent of DarkestWeb. From
its conception and early development, DarkestWeb

Prison time for stealing customer money
January 25, 2006
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. --A former New Britain funeral director has been sentenced to a year in prison for stealing money from customers.
Robert Kiniry, 65, the former director of the Haffey-Lyons & Kiniry Funeral Home, was sentenced Tuesday.

Kiniry was charged with five years of probation for repeatedly overcharging clients, then failing to refund their money.

In addition to the jail term, Kiniry must make restitution of $43,000 in missing funds.

Kiniry earlier pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree larceny and two counts of second-degree larceny.

The Department of Public Health had launched an investigation into Kiniry's billing practices in 2003 after accusations of overcharging were leveled by a client. In order to settle that investigation, Kiniry permanently surrendered his embalming license in June 2004.
