Shreveport, LA--Investigators will sniff out ghosts that may be haunting the 1897 H.R. Logan Mansion. Louisiana Spirits, a paranormal detective team, will survey the house on Friday. The home sits in the same vicinity of Municipal Auditorium, an area investigator Vikki Fleming says is abounding with history and energy.

"I love that area of town so much because it holds so much history," Fleming, case manager of the north Louisiana chapter of Louisiana Spirits, said.

"You can get out of your car and stand in that area and feel the energy. Everything down there is alive with all kinds of energy. It's a shame to let that go to waste."

Billy and Vicki LeBrun bought the home two years ago and have experienced some unexplainable activity. Painters reported lids on paint cans had been switched around after they walked away.

Vicki LeBrun's son Nick felt the presence of about 15 people a few months ago while he was lacing up his boots to head to work about 3 a.m. "He said he just got a prickly feeling like there were more than a dozen people crowding around him," Vicki LeBrun said.

"I've experienced doors closing on their own, but I've never felt anything creepy. My husband and I have always felt comfortable but strange things have happened." Several people have died in the home, including former owners L.R. Logan and Wade Hampton. A child was reported to have fallen out of an upstairs room in the early part of the century and killed.

The investigation will begin about 7 p.m. Friday and last until 2 or 3 a.m. Saturday. Louisiana Spirits contacted the LeBruns following a February article in The Times. Seven investigators will use infrared cameras, EMF meters, digital voice recorders, thermocouple ambient thermometers and other equipment to conduct the investigation.

Following the investigation, the organization will spend two or three days recovering evidence. "After the investigation they will let us know of their findings," Vicki LeBrun said. "Who knows? There have been some unexplained things to happen so maybe this will explain the reason behind it."
