Advocate Capitol News Bureau Orleans Parish Coroner Dr. Frank Minyard is seeking a final resting place for unidentified or unclaimed victims of Hurricane Katrina. He said about 100 bodies are still being stored from the approximately 1,500 left in his care after the Aug. 29, 2005, hurricane. On Friday, Minyard asked the LSU Board of Supervisors about building six mausoleums on cemetery property, at the end of Canal Street in New Orleans, that is owned by LSU’s hospitals. Minyard said the cemetery has not been used in about 50 years. LSU Board Chairman Rod West said LSU wants to help, but more details are required. http://www.2theadvocate.com/news/6414777.html
