A Taphophilia Thank You...

Taphophilia (dot) Com would not be possible without the knowledge, experience and talent of DarkestWeb. From
its conception and early development, DarkestWeb
was faced with many challenges; from inspiring and motivating, to providing guidance and direction. The continued dedication and support has produced results greater than ever expected, and for this, I owe a huge debt of gratitude.

Cemetery Temporarily Moves 6,000 Headstones PDF Print E-mail

Santa Fe, NM Aug 29, 2003

Some people who tried to visit the graves of relatives buried at the Santa Fe National Cemetery said they were upset to find thousands of tombstones removed for landscape work. Some of the headstones were left alongside roads in the cemetery through the summer as crews reshaped terrain and replaced sod in a section of the graveyard. Felicia Trujillo's father, World War II veteran Paul Trujillo, is buried at the cemetery. She said she wants to know how cemetery workers will guarantee that the gravestones will be put back in their proper places.

Cemetery director Don Rincon said three videotapes were made of the graves before work began to ensure the 6,000 headstones are returned to their original sites. He said that in no case did the surface work disturb any underground remains.
