More WTC Bones, 911 Calls Found

April 6, 2006 New Media Producer: Kerry Corum A building across the street from the World Trade Center continues to yield human bone fragments. Workers preparing the Deutsche Bank building for demolition discovered 74 bone fragments over the weekend, according to the New York Times. Medical examiner's spokeswoman Ellen Borakove tells the newspaper she would not be surprised if even more are found. The medical examiner is already storing some 9000 Nine-Eleven body parts, in the hopes they can be identified by future advances in DNA technology. The building was showered by flaming debris from the Trade Center and was rendered unusable. It's slated to be pulled down starting in June. And fire department investigators, looking through World Trade Center emergency tapes, have discovered eight more 911 calls, that weren't part of the package released last week. The discovery was made during a search for calls made by a battalion commander who died in the south tower. The FDNY says the city law department will review the newfound tapes and the eight calls will be released to the public, without the voices of the callers.
