Moberly, MO

Cynthia Love of Indianapolis, Ind., is recovering from injuries sustained while spending Memorial Day weekend in Moberly with her family. Cynthia, was with her mother, Sylvia Ganaway, and other family members paying respects about 10:30 a.m. Memorial Day at Oakland Cemetery when she was hurt.
She was in the 13th addition of the cemetery, walking up a slight slope, when she slipped, reaching for a tombstone. The large tombstone, with the name of “Williams” fell hitting Cynthia's ankle.

Family members took Cynthia to Moberly Regional Medical Center, where she received immediate attention and advised to get more attention as soon as she returned home.

Cynthia and other family members returned to Indianapolis later on Monday and she immediately went to a hospital where she had a rod placed in the ankle, a plate in the heal of her foot, a tendon repaired and 78 stitches.

It is hoped Cynthia will be able to resume her normal activities by September.
