A Taphophilia Thank You...

Taphophilia (dot) Com would not be possible without the knowledge, experience and talent of DarkestWeb. From
its conception and early development, DarkestWeb
was faced with many challenges; from inspiring and motivating, to providing guidance and direction. The continued dedication and support has produced results greater than ever expected, and for this, I owe a huge debt of gratitude.

Fendi Investigated PDF Print E-mail

PAOLA FENDI, who is credited with transforming her family's leatherware business into an international fashion powerhouse, was told last week that prosecutors had asked for her to be indicted on charges of corruption. According to The Guardian, the 72-year-old is accused of trying to bribe a place for her family in the revered Campo di Verano cemetery, an exclusive site outside Rome where some of Italy's most celebrated names are buried. Prosecutors allege that Ms Fendi, who handed over the presidency of the Fendi company to her younger sister Carla in 1994, supplied or offered a wedding dress to the deputy head of the graveyards department in exchange for the right to build a family mausoleum in the cemetery, which is available only to people whose family already own a mausoleum there or who hold one of a few extremely rare honours - including the title 'gentleman-in-waiting' to his Holiness, the Pope. After it was confirmed that Ms Fendi was formally under investigation, the fashion house issued a statement stressing that she was no longer a shareholder. A judge is expected to announce whether she is to stand trail on January 9. (December 2 2003, AM)

The irony of man's condition is that the deepest need is to be free of the anxiety of death and annihilation; but it is life itself which awakens it, and so we must shrink from being fully alive.
