A Taphophilia Thank You...

Taphophilia (dot) Com would not be possible without the knowledge, experience and talent of DarkestWeb. From
its conception and early development, DarkestWeb
was faced with many challenges; from inspiring and motivating, to providing guidance and direction. The continued dedication and support has produced results greater than ever expected, and for this, I owe a huge debt of gratitude.

Field Museum

1400 S. Lakeshore Drive

"Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" opens Friday. The exhibit, scheduled to run through Jan. 1, will display 130 artifacts from the tombs of King Tut and his contemporaries.

These include CT scans of the pharaoh, which were obtained as part of a five-year Egyptian research and conservation project partially funded by National Geographic.

Among the notable pieces from the royal tomb are the golden diadem that circled Tutankhamun's head in life and death; a miniature coffin that held his mummified liver; his child-size chair and footrest; statues in gilded wood depicting the boy king as ruler of Upper and Lower Egypt; and model boats meant to ferry the king in the afterlife.

The Field Museum has already sold approximately 150,000 tickets with reservations from 32 U.S. states, a ticket presale record for the museum. If you want to add your name to the record list, tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for seniors and students and $16 for children 4 to 11. To purchase tickets, call (866) 343-5303 or visit www.fieldmuseum.org/tut or www.kingtut.org.
