CHARLES CITY An owner of a Charles City funeral home has pleaded innocent to charges of felony theft related to a casket order.

The complaint filed last week against Albert Fenzloff, of Sunnyside Memory Gardens, alleges he wrote a check to a Michigan casket supplier for more than 13-thousand dollars on a closed account. A hearing is scheduled for January.

The Floyd County Attorney's office says Fenzloff and his wife, Mitzi Fenzloff, were planning to be Iowa distributors of fiberglass caskets.

Mitzi Fenzloff's criminal history includes two Polk County convictions on third-degree theft in October. In 1999, she was convicted of one count of second-degree theft in Cerro Gordo County District Court.
