Mrs. Cutts said: “It was devastating when he died, but we draw comfort from visiting and tending his beautiful grave at Weston Road Cemetery and from keeping him as an ongoing part of our family”. On a recent trip to Euro Disney with their three other children, Richard, 14, Sam, 10, and Arabella, four, the Cutts spent ages picking a special gift for Kerys.

It was a model of Mickey Mouse holding an Oscar, which can only be brought from Disney Studios. Then on October 31, Mrs. Cutts was horrified to discover Mickey Mouse and a teddy bear had gone missing. The family has tried to replace items but with no luck. Now they are appealing for them to be returned.

Cherished

“The teddy was a cherished toy which has now been retired and we are unable to return to Euro Disney to replace the Mickey Mouse,” said Mrs Cutts. There were around 30 other gifts on the headstone, which Mrs. Cutts said had been rearranged so as to disguise the missing pieces. She said she reported the thefts to the cemetery staff but appreciated they can only keep an eye out to see if the items were placed on another grave. She went on: “If whoever did this had any morals, self respect or decency we hope they will return the gifts. As for stealing from a baby’s grave, words just fail me.

“I want this person to know how sick we feel this is and how hurt, angry and devastated we are. Maybe somewhere deep in their consciousness they will realize how wrong they have been and return my baby’s things.  “As a mother my main job is to love and protect my children. I already feel I did not protect my little boy from dying and now I feel unable to protect him from being violated at his grave.”
Mrs. Cutts said she didn’t care who took the items,  she just wants them returned to the grave.
